Matthew has claimed the title for the last six years, defeating Joe Lee in straight games last year to win his ninth trophy while, Massaro has taken top prize in the women’s event the last two years, beating 2015 winner Sarah-Jane Perry in last year’s final.
Alongside defending champion Matthew, leading contenders for the men’s championship will include former title holders James Willstrop and Daryl Selby as well as British U23 champion and Welsh No.1 Joel Makin and Scotland’s Greg Lobban.
On the women’s draw, defending champion Massaro will face tough competition from the likes of former title holders Perry, Alison Waters and Jenny Duncalf, alongside Welsh No.1 Tesni Evans, World No.15 Emily Whitlock and World No.16 Victoria Lust.
