SQUASH Fiji is proud of its junior players participating in the Oceania Junior Championship in Australia.
Day one saw all three of the Fiji players losing to their much more experienced opponents.
Manager Dinesh Narayan said, however, as the tournament progressed, they could see that they were getting more confident and playing to their abilities.
"It is pretty evident, the difference in class between our players and the Australian and other overseas competitors who have come through a structured training and development regime from when they began to play squash," he said.
Ratu Jone Fugawai won the consolation plate by beating Australia's Derrick CH YU in straight sets (3-0). After a slow start in the first game, Ratu finished off strongly to win the game.
