No. 26 Hamilton College came away with a hard-fought 5-4 win over the 30th-ranked Wesleyan University men's squash team on Sunday afternoon at the Rosenbaum Squash Center, getting out to a quick lead and clinching the match at No. 4 despite a spirited comeback from the Cardinals. With the win, the Continentals move to 4-3 while Wesleyan falls to 3-5.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:
- Freshman Will Coburn got through an up and down match at No. 8 with a win over Ward Urban, taking the match 11-3, 8-11, 11-6, 9-11, 12-10.
- Junior Kevin Le played a focused match from start to finish at No. 7, overcoming a tough loss in the second game to defeat Jonathan Ruth 11-9, 11-13, 11-2, 11-4.
- The team's only captain, junior Yahya Ladiwala, had perhaps his most impressive match of the season, getting through Callum Sandi in three very tight games 11-6, 17-15, 12-10 at No. 2.
- Freshman Sean Choi won his third straight match at No. 1, beating Colin O'Dell 6-11, 11-7, 12-10, 11-9.
