Joelle King has missed out on a place in the quarterfinals at the British Open.
Commonwealth Games squash gold medallist Joelle King has been dumped out of the British Open in the second round.
King, the world No 4, has been upset by Welsh player Tesni Evans in Hull on Thursday (Friday morning NZT).
Evans, the world No 12 and bronze medallist at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, took just 39 minutes to upset King 11-9, 11-8 and 11-6 to reach the quarterfinals.
Evans, who had never beaten King on the PSA World Tour, kept the Kiwi on the back foot throughout the encounter as King struggled to find her accuracy.

"We have played so many times in practice, not so much on the PSA World Tour but in practice we have and we both know each other so well so it was just going to be a case of who did it better today," Evans said.
Paul Coll will take on current world champion Mohamed ElShorbagy in the quarterfinals of the British Open.

"Fortunately, I did that but it was not an easy match at all, she is a very good friend of mine but someone had to win today."
Meanwhile, Kiwi men's star Paul Coll will play his quarterfinal in the men's singles of the British Open on Saturday morning (NZ time).
Coll faces a tough challenge against top seed and world No 1 Mohamed ElShorbagy of Egypt.
