The Men’s WSF World Team Squash Championship will get under way later this month as the tournament heads to Marseille, France from November 27 – December 3.
The 2017 Championship – which will be screened LIVE and FREE on SQUASHTV to digital subscribers – will take place at the Modern Squash and Salle Vallier, where the final stages will be presented on an all-glass showcourt.
Iraq and Jamaica will both be making their debuts at the Men’s World Team Squash Championship this year in France, where 24 nations will contest the biennial World Squash Federation event.
Defending champions England – who denied Egypt a third successive title in 2013 in Mulhouse, France – will be made up of an experienced team with former World No.1s Nick Matthew and James Willstrop making their seventh appearances at the Championships.
World No.15 Daryl Selby – who was also a member of the 2013 winning team – and World No.32 Adrian Waller – who will be making his debut at the event – make up the rest of the England team.
Top seeds and 2013 runners-up, Egypt, will be looking to reclaim their trophy and they are made up of a host of world-class talent. Ahead of his PSA Men’s World Championship defence, Karim Abdel Gawad will aim to help Egypt get their hands on the trophy for the fourth time in their history.
The rest of the Egypt team will be made up of three-time World Champion Ramy Ashour, 2017 U.S. Open winner Ali Farag and World No.6 Marwan ElShorbagy.
Meanwhile, home nation France will look to make history by claiming their first Men’s World Team Championship after finishing as runners-up in both 2003 and 2009.
Their team will be made up of current World No.1 Gregory Gaultier, World No.23 and Open International de Squash de Nantes winner Gregoire Marche, World No.30 Mathieu Castagnet and World No.45 Lucas Serme.
Australia – who are the most successful nation in the tournament’s history with eight gold medals – will look to cause an upset and claim their first title since 2003, with World No.16 Ryan Cuskelly, World No.19 Cameron Pilley, World No.57 Rex Hedrick and World No.108 Zac Alexander the confirmed members of their team.
You can find the full list of players taking part for each team here.
