Niger Wins U-13 Diaspora Squash
Minna – Niger state, Gideon Bala Ibrahim has won the maiden Ex-PROS (Diaspora) U-13 (Boys) National Squash tournament, while Mercy Afokhai also of Niger state placed 3rd in the U-16 (Girls) in the tournament.
Bala defeated Ibrahim Balogun 3-0 to win the event that held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
During the 3-days tournament which has more than 20 states in attendance, Odunlade Adeyi of Kwara state placed first in the U-16 female category, while Nasirudeen Abdulrahman also of Kwara state won the U-16 male category.
However, Chairman of the Niger State Squash Association (NSSA), Mohammed Usman Babujee, has appealed to Niger State government to help offset salaries and allowances of coaches and other technical staff that accompanied sports men and women that represented the state in the last Nigerian Youth Games which held in Ilorin, Kwara state.
