Andrea Toth enhances her selection for junior national team

Sixteen - year -old Andrea Toth captured the U 19 Division at the Alberta Jesters Junior Open as she moved a step closed to be named to Canada ' s junior national team .
Richmond’s Shakiru Matti Squash Academy continues to make an impressive in high - profile junior events .
The Sport Central based club produced a number of outstanding results at last month’s Alberta Jesters Junior Open .
Leading the way was 16 -year - old Andrea Toth . She captured the U 19 Division which will enhance her chances of being named to the national team for the 2017 World Junior Championships in New Zealand . The Alberta Jesters was part of Squash Canada ’s selection criteria .
Other wins included 13 -year - old Sarah Can capturing the U17 Girls Division , while eight - year -old Ysuf Matti took top honours in the Boys U11 flight .
Runner- up performances were turned in by James Both ( U 15 ) and Joseph Both ( U 13 ) . Grace Huang was third in the U13 Girls Division .
Jacob Lin was the consolation winner in U 15 Boys , defeating training mate Gabriel Run In the same division , Jordan King reached the consolation semi - finals.
Emillio Carrillo was a consolation semi -finalist as well in Boys U17 , while Ismael Matti was the Bronze Draw winner .
Maaz Shah and Cynthia Cao also enjoyed strong tournaments .
