Indian duo Ramit Tandon and Mahesh Mangaonkar on Thursday went down to higher ranked opponents in the quarter-final of the Tring Open, a PSA world tour.
Tandon, the seventh seed, was ousted in straight games by top seed Adrian Waller of England, losing 6-11, 9-11, 9-11. Eight seed Mangaonkar went down fighting to Welsh champion Peter Creed. The Mumbai player had taken the lead in the game before Creed held his nerve to defeat him 9-11, 12-10, 11-9, 11-7.
Another Indian, Abhay Singh, who had come through the qualifying phase bowed out in his pre-quarterfinal match, losing in straight games.
